Globalization is a political, economic, social, cultural, and legal phenomenon. Its motives are both idealistic and opportunistic. However, globalization implies a new paradigm within world politics and economic relations because it is a process of interaction and integration between people, enterprises, and governments of different nations, a process driven by international trade and investment and aided by information technology.
After studying the main characteristics of globalization, a group of Albanian academics decided to combine their relevant expertise (economy, politics, issues of order and security, international relations) to analyze the visible impacts and side effects of globalization in our country. It tried to focus on issues of public and institutional interest, such as national economic integration with global networks, Albania's challenges to reach continental standards, policy-making, good governance, and more.
The Institute aims to promote interdisciplinary perspectives and active engagement in globalization. It promotes qualitative scientific research, analytical publications, intellectual engagement, and dialogue focused on events with public, national, and international impact and interest. The analysis of the issues mentioned above will be inclusive, considering a global approach to local realities.

In a interconnected world, it is necessary to study all actors that can influence or impact the functioning of a society's organic life. It is essential to examine all factors based on their objective and potential weight and give them specific attention in relation to the potential they carry.
