In June 2023, the conference on “Prospects and Perspectives of China-Central and Eastern European Countries Relations in the New Era” was held in Budapest.
Prof. Dr. Feng Zhongping, Director of the Institute of European Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Dr. Gladden Pappin, President of the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs, made opening remarks, in which both sides agreed that China and Europe should strengthen exchanges and communications at all levels, and continuously enhance mutual understanding and mutually beneficial cooperation.
At the meeting, scholars from European countries conducted inspiring and enthusiastic discussions on the topics of opportunities and challenges for China-CEE cooperation, pathways and key areas of cooperation for promoting China-CEE relations, and prospects for China-CEE countries to joint-building “One Belt, One Road”.
Co-organized by the China-CEE Insitute and the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs (HIIA), the conference was attended by about 30 scholars and experts from China, Hungary, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and other countries.
