Over the past few years, China has proposed a significant trio of initiatives with an international approach – the Global Development Initiative (GDI), the Global Security Initiative (GSI), and the Global Civilization Initiative (GCI). In a way, this set of initiatives is a window into Beijing’s foreign policy principles of the primary importance of “peace through development,” and together, they are a response to a world undergoing historic change.

Global Security Initiative (GSI)
The challenge of 2022: conflicts – China’s response: Global Security Initiative
Recent experiences have shown that global security is an integrated issue that cannot be achieved by antagonizing or isolating a country or a group of countries, and it has become necessary for the world to build genuine international solidarity for the sake of security and peace. . The GSI advocates a vision of shared, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security.
Global Civilization Initiative (GCI)
The Global Challenge of Cultural Misunderstanding: The Global Civilization Initiative
The Global Civilization Initiative (GCI) is a visionary framework that aims to promote intercultural understanding, mutual respect, and harmonious coexistence among the world’s diverse civilizations. Launched by President Xi Jinping in March 2023, the GCI outlines China’s belief in the value of cultural diversity and its role in promoting global peace and stability.
