China Media Group (CMG) Forum

On April 27, 2025, the China Media Group (CMG) International Forum, one of the most significant media events of the year, was successfully held, bringing together senior representatives from the media, academia, and diplomacy worldwide. Under the inspiring theme of “Exchange, Mutual Learning, Empowerment of Technology: The Power of Civilization in Transformation and Development”, the forum aimed to highlight the vital role of communication and media in building a more connected and peaceful world. The forum was held in Qufu City, east China’s Shandong Province, and was jointly organized by CMG and the Shandong Provincial People’s Government.

At the prestigious CMG Forum, invited from Albania, Dr. Marsela Musabelliu, Executive Director of the Institute of Globalization Studies (AIGS), delivered a message of unity, cooperation, and reflection. Bringing warm greetings from Tirana, she stressed the profound importance of the forum’s theme: “Exchanges, Mutual Learning and Harmonious Coexistence”.

Addressing the attendees, Musabelliu underlined the idea that, regardless of geographical location, humanity shares a common destiny. “Our commonalities,” she noted, “are far greater than our differences”. While globalization has created deep interconnectedness, it has also further exposed divisions. Geopolitical tensions, cultural misunderstandings, and economic inequalities often dominate global discourse, overshadowing the shared human experiences that unite people across continents.

The Albanian representative hopes for a return to the true mission of the media: telling meaningful stories rather than relying on sensationalism. In an era where clickbait headlines often distort perceptions and provoke division, the media’s responsibility becomes even more critical. Musabelliu stressed that the role of the media should be to enlighten minds, foster understanding, and shed light on the rich and diverse stories of humanity.

“Moments like this remind us,” she said, “that we must choose dialogue over antagonism, especially when we have the opportunity to listen, lear,n and share ideas with each other.” She called on media professionals around the world to recognize their extraordinary power and responsibility in shaping narratives that can divide or unite.

AIGS është një qendër hulumtuese bazuar në Tiranë, që promovon analiza ndërdisiplinore mbi elemente të globalizimit.
