On September 11th, 2024, Chinese and Albanian academics met in Tirana for an academic exchange session & roundtable.
Takimi mblodhi së bashku studiues dhe profesionistë të shquar nga të dy vendet për të eksploruar më mirë mundësitë e bashkëpunimit dhe për të shqyrtuar paradigmat bashkëkohore të kërkimit shkencor.
Në bisedime morën pjesë Prof. Zhao Chen, Prof. Kong Tianping dhe Prof. Cao Hui nga Akademia Kineze e Shkencave Sociale (CASS), Instituti i Studimeve Evropiane.
Profesor Zhao, the Chief of the European Diplomacy Department, presented the history, accomplishments, and future prospects of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Institute of European Studies. Additionally, Professor Zhao introduced the first Chinese think tank based in Europe, specifically in Budapest, and provided Albanian academics with an overview of IES’s academic achievements and areas of focus.
Profesor Kong , ofroi një panoramë gjithëpërfshirëse të fushave të tij të kërkimit, duke u mbështetur në ekspertizën e tij të gjerë në rajonin e Ballkanit. Ai angazhoi pjesëmarrësit shqiptarë, duke ofruar njohuri të hollësishme mbi eksplorimin historik dhe bashkëkohor të rajonit ballkanik në Kinë. Prof. Kong theksoi momente kritike të historisë, duke hedhur dritë mbi rëndësinë e kërkimit të kryer në këtë fushë.
Profesor Shpëtim Cami, General Secretary of the University College of Business (UCB) in Albania, presented the vision, mission, and aims for UCB’s future to the Chinese counterparts. Prof. Cami expressed UCB’s interest in student and academic staff exchanges with universities and think tanks in China, as well as training, joint programs, and projects. Additionally, he highlighted the possibility of a cooperation agreement that would be mutually beneficial for both institutions (CASS & UCB).
Prof. Edit Bregu, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Law, and Social Sciences and vice president of UCB, made an in-depth presentation on the university’s current state of affairs, ongoing partnerships, reorganization, and future projections. Prof. Bregu highlighted UCB’s commitment to further internationalization and expressed the university’s further outreach to foreign academic institutions.
Prof. Mira Andoni, Dekane e Fakultetit të Inxhinierisë dhe Shkencave Kompjuterike në KUB, prezantoi shtrirjen, kapacitetin dhe mundësitë që fakulteti po ofron për të rinjtë shqiptarë në kohën tonë. Prof. Andoni theksoi rëndësinë jetike të kësaj fushe për të ardhmen dhe mënyrën se si KUB po eksploron dhe përshtatet me nevojat e tregut.
Dr. Irsida Dinoshi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Law, and Social Sciences, UCB, introduced the Chinese counterparts to the institution’s goals and achievements. Dr. Dinoshi highlighted UCB’s engagement and commitment to exchanging knowledge, ideas, and experiences.
Prof. Enver Bytyçi, Executive Director of the Institute of Southeast European Studies, introduced his institution’s objectives and his personal expertise in the region. The author of several books and articles on China, prof. Bytyçi expressed his conviction that Albanian academia has the goodwill, intention, and aspiration to work with China. He recalled his visits to China and the great potential in Beijing’s two initiatives, respectively, China-CEEC and the Belt and Road Initiative.

Dr. Marsela Musabelliu, Drejtore Ekzekutive e Institutit Shqiptar për Studimet e Globalizimit, moderoi takimin. Si studiuese e aktualitetit kinez, ajo i njohu homologët se si perceptohet Kina në Shqipëri, çfarë arritjesh janë bërë deri tani në kërkimet e lidhura me Kinën dhe çfarë mund të sjellin perspektivat për të ardhmen. Dr. Musabelliu shprehu bindjen se akademikët mund të krijojnë ura solide bashkëpunimi midis Kinës dhe Shqipërisë.
Të gjithë pjesëmarrësit theksuan interesin dhe angazhimin e ndërsjellë të institucioneve kineze dhe shqiptare për të rritur përpjekjet bashkëpunuese, për të nxitur inovacionin e kërkimin dhe për të forcuar lidhjet akademike. Pjesëmarrësit shfrytëzuan këtë mundësi për të çuar përpara bashkëpunimin akademik midis Kinës dhe Shqipërisë.
Fokusi kryesor ishte në rritjen e shkëmbimeve dypalëshe dhe shfrytëzimin e interesave të përbashkëta për të nxitur përpjekje më të mëdha në të ardhmen.
The meeting was marked by insightful presentations, collaborative spirit, and discussions that highlighted the rich traditions and strengths of both countries. Both sides’ will is well-positioned to leverage their combined expertise.
